Frequently asked questions

How does the color extraction work?

The image is downscaled in your browser and its pixels are clustered (k-means in Lab-like space), ignoring transparent and near-duplicate colors. Results are sorted by how much of the image each color covers.

Which colors should I use for App Store screenshots?

Use one dominant brand color for backgrounds, a contrasting accent for highlights, and make sure captions meet at least 4.5:1 contrast so they stay readable at thumbnail size.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Images never leave your device.
